Pakistan launches new biometric visa system for Russian citizens

The Pakistani government has made some modifications to its visa policies. Russian nationals must use the PakID application to confirm their sponsors before applying for a visa to Pakistan. This is announced by Pakistan’s embassy in Russia.

What’s the Difference?

In the case that they do not comply, their visa application to Pakistan will be rejected. Russian citizens can now apply for a tourist visa to Pakistan through online portal. A passport and a new photo are required by them. These tourist visas to Pakistan have a validity of up to 24 months. The embassy confirmed that the decision on visa approvals for Pakistan is in the hands of the Government of Pakistan.

Change in Pakistan’s visa policy for Russians

This new biometric measure is a component of Pakistan’s immigration regulations. As of January 1,2026, Pakistan halted the implementation of its “Visa Prior to Arrival” program for citizens of 126 nations, including Russia, before the program facilitated, people’s entry into Pakistan.
